HELICHRYSUM / IMMORTALE (e.o) - 1/4 oz Aromatherapy Oils

1/4 oz - Helichrysum (Immortelle): (Helichrysum italicum) Corsica

Helichrysum Steam distilled from the flowering tops of the plant commonly known as Immortelle. Also known as Everlasting.

Scent: It has a unique scent that"s difficult to describe - somewhat tea-like, but not quite. Helichrysum flowers smell fresh turpentine-like with a slight hint of coffee (some say curry-like), but it is interesting to note how the odour changes on aging.Helichrysms are also represented by the alpine Helichrysum frigidum whilst on the shoreline the halophilic (i.e. salt-loving) H. italicum var. microphyllum abounds. Dried flower heads by comparison take on the smell of oxidised terpenes but with lemon note, but the dried leaves have a more dried-tea odour with a liquorice effect.

Properties and Uses: The best oil for treating scars and aiding skin healing. Also for bacterial infections, muscular aching, rheumatism and depression. Reduces bruising. It is believed to be exceptional in skin care with regards to bruises and scarring. Many people have claimed great success in treating scars and bruises by mixing Helichrysum with Rosehip Seed Oil.
