Muira Puama has been used by the native tribes in the basins of Brazil's Amazon River and Venezuela's Orinoco River for various functions, including its capability to increase sexual performance.

Also known as potency wood, muira puama is derived from two species of small, shrubby trees in the olive family. (References to muira puama as "liriosma," from the name of another Brazilian shrub, Liriosma ovata, are out-dated.) South American Indians make use of it either by chewing the bark or brewing a beverage from the bark, stems, or roots.

The bark and root are used to make herbal supplements.

We offer the whole powders of both (this being the bark) in order that you may brew it as a tea, according to the traditional method. 2 tsp / cup of boiling water. Sweeten with honey.
